Private cars need to be done inspection and maintenance per 5000 km, and the tire pressure, oil, brake oil and antifreeze also be checked at ordinary times, because the good conditions of the car can guarantee the safe and comfort; For the same reason, if you do the cleaning and maintenance for the ink roller, damping roller, water groove, fly motor and dusting regularly, the press will run smoothly, otherwise, a variety of problems for the printing quality will occur.
 
The CTP device is a “printing down device” from the effect aspect, while it is also a high technology device gathering laser and electricity. In order to run normally, it needs to be guaranteed in the relevant integrated environment and be done consistent daily maintenance. So we put forward the using standard of “maintenance of nine-tenth, and service of one-tenth”. It is not worth to waste time and money that only to concern and maintain the device after it is broken, but not to take a little time to do maintenance in usual.
 
It is easy to be ignored of the routine content of the maintenance for the CTP device, such as ground wire (ground zero voltage), the stability of the power supply, rat infestations, temperature and humidity, dust, draining the water and oil for the air compressor, saving the customer’s electronic document, clean-up the disk and antivirus, maintenance of the processor, the environment of storing plate, etc.
 
The aspects of device:
① The work environment should be kept in a good and stable state, so that it can avoid the device in the environment with high temperature, low temperature, high humidity, dust, instability of the voltage.
②  It is unavoidable to stop the attenuation of the laser channel, but device can recover to the best state through the regular inspection and laser power calibration timely.
③  The device is assembled by many mechanical parts which have done standard fatigue tests before them leaving the factory. They should be dusted and cleaned regularly and filled the lubricant in using. The relative displacement abrasion between the mechanical components can be found timely and the errors can be solved in the daily maintenance.
④  Circuit cable will ageing and get loose of the wiring point, so that it need to be checked regularly.
⑤  It is necessary to do dusting for cooling fan, because it will adsorb a lot of dust.
⑥ After the holiday，the errors will occur frequently. There are several methods as follows to avoid the errors: start the machine after the air compressor reaching the rated supply air pressure; control indoor temperature and humidity before starting the machine; preheat after starting; make a few pieces of scrap plates; process some scrap plates after the processer reaching the recommended temperature.
 
The aspects of plate:
①It is unavoidable of the differences between the plate batches. So in order to reach the requirement of outputting curve, we can do a detection of plate energy before using the new batch, adjust exposure energy timely and fine adjust processor.
② It is not suggested to change plate frequently for reducing cost. Because the process parameters of different plates are different, so producers need time to grope for material properties. And the stability and quality is the most important things for the productions, changing will bring new problems and quality fluctuation certainly.
③The problem of plate storage environment and transporting is easy to be ignored, such as temperature and humidity for storing, stacking quantity, transporting style etc.
 
The aspects of processor:
Though we cost a lot of money to buy the CTP, but the processing step is the most easily to be ignored. There are many experience and lessons getting from ignoring the important step of processing, like drop dots, not inking, bottom grey, inconsistent of the density on both sides of the print, scratch, uneven of the gradient, dirty points, etc.
Some customers even haven’t cleaned the processor for several months, so it cause crystallization, roller cracking, scratches, unsmooth cycle, several degrees differing between left and right temperature. How to consider quality in such state?
Personnel retraining:
Device needs maintenance; people which are the core competitiveness of the enterprise also need “maintenance” of professional skills and professional mentality.
